On response to the following:

What is the historical evidence that Jesus Christ lived and died?

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/apr/14/what-is-the-historical-evidence-that-jesus-christ-lived-and-died?CMP=fb_gu
dragging out worn box, tapping on mic, clearign throat …

This I have got to comment on this sentence from the article I have linked to:

“These abundant historical references leave us with little reasonable doubt that Jesus lived and died.”

Whether or not you believe is second hand to this posting… so no jumping down my neck. Believe me you do not want to debate me in this area.

So here loud and clear: I am not stating he is real or not, lived or not, etc etc…… what is being addressed here is the miscalculation and preconceived bias in the article that fails in lining out both sides of an issue in order to prove a preconceived decision.

This is the problem with fields that attempt to prove a religious thought as valid, to find that verification in physical substance. Faith cannot always be verified and thus why one should not base their whole belief system by snagging on any glimmer of precious sacred gold, since some of that gold could be pyrite.

This article is a very simple classic example of bad research and a biased report that only shows one side without the depth that is needed to make a rational decision.

So let us start: As we read there is a strong understanding all historical written records are truth and evidence must be real. That right off the bat is a strike. One must start with a blank slate and determine one by one if the historical and archaeological evidence is valid. Both sides of the coin must be examined. While there are a couple of noted dissentients, it is brushed off easily by the author.

Fact is instead of these historical evidence proving Jesus lived, in actually they leaves more questions being all second hand accounts that have been possibly altered in some fashion through the ages. We have no first-hand account or archaeological evidence to prove such matters. Let me first address the historical accounts:

Second hand written accounts that may mention the name Jesus or that he lived, is the same as me writing today about Simba being a talking lion in 1994 when Clinton was president. If in 2000 years all that remains of what Simba was is some scant lines referring to a talking lion, would you then deduce a real lion can talk? What about the tie into to a historical fact in this case Clinton does that make it valid? No.

Same for these historical records. The account of Christian writers in the article is way too vague and pulling at loose ties. To make the statement that: “It is also difficult to imagine why Christian writers would invent such a thoroughly Jewish saviour figure in a time and place – under the aegis of the Roman empire – where there was strong suspicion of Judaism.” That is plain insular considering that is the time frame when a savior would be sought out and there are references to other saviors if you do some digging. Researchers have to remember context and reason why the account was being written, what was the purpose.

In this case the early Christian writers of course are building a base to attract believers. However are their claims 100 percent accurate or were they eyewitness. There is no real proof to assume so, just speculation. No diary written by Jesus, there was no media coverage in the day, nothing.

Turning to the non-Christian writers. Josephus does mentions Jesus three times, only two of them are noted by the author as possibly corrupted, yet validates the third one regarding James as not “suspicious” since the term “so called” is used thus a negative connotation and not a positive reinforcement as the other two Jesus remarks. But once again we must ask was there just one corruption done, was there a purpose for the three, why, and the time frame before we can assume Josephus is valid.

Same for Tacitus and Pliny, both are second hand accounts again, yet the Roman records fail to mention the religious sect and would had. So still there is no definitive proof. Others writers mentioned in the article, Lucian, Celsus, and the early Rabbis, are all dated 150 years plus after Jesus’s time. All were again second hand accounts, and all had a purpose for their mentioning of Jesus. The rabbis of course fashioned their account probably to discredit the Christians in order to keep those of the Jewish faith from changing sides. It does not show proof though that Jesus actually lived.

As for the supposed archeological evidence: that is negligible, based on conspiracy theories. The coin that is being touted as Cesarean as Jesus has no base in fact, just what if speculation. And the shroud of Turin has been debunked as a hoax of holy relics. So no there is not one shred of archaeological evidence.

Thus when you read or even write an argument you need to tie those loose ends up, satisfy both sides of the question, and play devil’s advocate. Then the results must either lead to a draw or why one side is overwhelmingly the favored. This article failed in providing that….

Air Force One

Steel Soapbox.. Air Force One

In response to the following

Air Force Stumped by Trump’s Claim of $1 Billion Savings on Jet

https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2017-02-22/air-force-stumped-by-trump-s-claim-of-1-billion-savings-on-jet

Sigh this one just boggles the mind

Okay the facts: first off there is no 4 billion plus price tag for ONE plane

Second there is no ONE plane but two and a third is considered … there never been just ONE Air Force One… Think maintenance…..

Third the plane’s 30 year life will be coming up and thus why the two new planes were ordered by Obama that in effect would be used not by him but the president in 2024… that is called simple logic, planes age and we do not want a president running around on a derelict…

Fourth… okay the cost…. The cost that was approved and budgeted is 3.73 billion over the next 12 year… got that over a 12 year span of time..

here are the next 5 years:
$351.2 million in Fiscal Year 2017
$625.6 million in Fiscal Year 2018
$741 million in Fiscal Year 2019
$573.7 million in Fiscal Year 2020
$487.3 million in Fiscal Year 2021

Now why Boeing was selected because it use of US parts for configuration…. Also note Boeing just builds the body, those expensive parts that run up the bill are all the security and electronic that are subcontracted out to other companies…

Now that the facts are clear… we must remember this is not a plane…. it is a mobile command center, in case of an emergency it must be able to stay in the air for hours… it also must be able to communicate during an emergency and protect the command structure of the US…

face it this costs money and while yes the planes are expensive we need these to continue the line of command in case of whatever … heck of a lot more than a silly wall for sure and it is cheaper by far

SB 1142

Steel soapbox…. SB 1142

hmm apparently this bill was backed on the claim that people are being paid to riot (ie coming under racketeering umbrella). This bill was introduced and passed by the Republican state senators: SB 1142

“SB1142 expands the state’s racketeering laws, now aimed at organized crime, to also include rioting. And it redefines what constitutes rioting to include actions that result in damage to the property of others”

Now this bill has many glitches including nonspecific guidelines to enact… in fact this bill technically could give police the authority to arrest anyone who is involved in a peaceful demonstration that, in th police’s opinion will go bad.. even if there is no violence to account for such analysis.

“Claiming people are being paid to riot, Republican state senators voted Wednesday to give police new power to arrest anyone who is involved in a peaceful demonstration that may turn bad — even before anything actually happened.”

We have the freedom under the FIRST amendment to peaceful demonstrations, this bill says no….. that for me is a problem

“Quezada said, though, that everything that constitutes rioting already is a crime, ranging from assault to criminal damage, and those responsible can be individually prosecuted. He said the purpose of this bill appears to be designed to chill the First Amendment rights of people to decide to demonstrate in the first place for fear something could wrong.”

However this is what happens when you want to dictate and control a people as in a police state situation.. if and probably when this passes the house the Republican power structure has told the American citizen you have no right to your right in the FIRST amendment to a peaceful demonstration because there you are paid to protest number one with no proof needed and number two there is a chance that it could get violent in some degree though those lines are muddled.

“But the real heart of the legislation is what Democrats say is the guilt by association — and giving the government the right to criminally prosecute and seize the assets of everyone who planned a protest and everyone who participated. And what’s worse, said Sen. Steve Farley, D-Tucson, is that the person who may have broken a window, triggering the claim there was a riot, might actually not be a member of the group but someone from the other side.”

While of course it is wrong to commit acts of violence or criminal offenses during any demonstration, this law goes too far in malign sure there are no demonstrations particularity in regards to the party now in power.. and that action is just as wrong…..

Protesting peacefully is not a conspiracy nor in general are people paid to be there, when people feel wrong they speak up.. part of being American

the word “Illegals” once again

I posted this once before however posting again since the whole wall issue is going aroudn and the term “illegals” is being used

The Steel Soapbox … the word “Illegals”

Elie Wisel, a Holocaust survivor, wrote of the dark time of Jewish persecution to which he was subjected. He addressed the issue of “illegal aliens” with these words:

“You, who are so-called illegal aliens, must know that no human being is illegal. That is a contradiction in terms. Human beings can be beautiful or more beautiful, they can be fat or skinny, they can be right or wrong, but illegal? How can a human being be illegal?”

So how can a person be “illegal”?

Illegal is technically an adjective, it is not a noun… however it has become a derogatory term in noun format. Thus the term illegal should not be used with the word immigrant or alien.

I can hear the shouts already but they are “illegal immigrants” because they came here “illegally”. They broke the law thus they are “illegal”.

Okay, okay quiet down let us look at two examples. Know anyone who has tread beyond ‘the stay off the grass sign’, have you????… if so then you and the rest should be labeled an “illegal walker” because you broke a law. What about all those who speed should they not be labeled as “illegal drivers”. In both examples a law broken so why not under the idea that illegal is doing something against the law we do not use that term.

That is silly I hear whispering out in cyber-land, those are simple examples that are minor breaks in the law that are common everyday offenses. Not like coming into the country “illegally” to steal our jobs…that is theft and thus “illegal”.

Okayyyy, well then what of convicted hard core law-breakers: so let us go deeper. Do we refer to murderers are “illegal murderers”? Tax evaders as “illegal tax evaders”? Thieves as “illegal thieves”….. no but we denounce and degrade immigrants. Think on that for a second.

Why use the term “illegals”? That is easy to see, basically certain factions in society want to dehumanized “those” who are not themselves. By calling people aliens and “illegals”, you set them apart from you as a human, and thus set yourself above that person.

Devote opponents will claim using any other term is just “Political Correctness” the ghastly PC wordage that is thrown up to counter any diversity or common decency phrases. But why? Again simple, because calling a person “undocumented” or an “immigrant” is… hmmm well making them human and that breaks the illusion that “those people” are “different” and thus part of the debauchery that is ruining America. The old scapegoat ploy…

Seems a bit silly does it not to get so riled up over a term, however when the term is used in a derogatory way, should we not get riled up? Is it right to degrade another? Is it moral or ethical to make one an non-entity, non-human?

Illegal is being used as a code word for racism. No it cannot be….

Sadly yes another sneak under the table way to lure average people into the white supremacy ideology without them even realizing it. That is why people today really need to step back and look in the mirror. Why am I using these word? Why do I dislike those people? Is it what I am hearing? Think, question your own morals.

The fact is, when you start calling or using terminology that sets a person, race, or culture as inferior to you, that is form of racism. Hard fact to face, and many will deny they are, but that is racism in a nutshell: to be superior to another due to them being different from you. I will deal with racism in another blog so for now back to the term “illegal”…..

If we used the term “undocumented” or “unauthorized” which is actually better term as it is the correct context, then we give these people a face, we make them human, and worse of all we give the chance at staying within the country though legal means. And that defeats the anger and hate needed to drive the “what is wrong with America attention” to those “illegals” for blaming rather than deal with issues and solving them.

Those that flaunt the words, see their blogs driven up with hits, ratings go high, and gives them a sense of importance. But that is what drives any controversial item, so should not the controversy be in the ways to address the issue and not in dehumanizing the people. Why cannot we see immigrants as humans not threats as our Statue of Liberty does. Those words written so long ago were not just for white Europeans, but for all:

“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

In conclusion:
When you call someone”illegal” you are doing three things:

First you dehumanize the person, they are no longer a person but an “illegal” thing

Second you criminalize the person without trial. This is still the United States of American where you are innocent until conviction by trial. So calling someone illegal is going against one of our base foundations.

Third you show not only an ignorance of the English language but also a corrupted view using derogatory terms.

Sooooo is this the word you truly wish to use?

Fake Think Tanks

Steel Soapbox: Fake Think Tanks
Be wary of the following propaganda styled groups. You will note none of these groups have anti, hating names, but sound very legit. And that was on purpose, to design their names and structures to seem unbiased, normalized, and safe.

The one I will list below all are designated by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a hate group…. read that again…. a hate group. If you are following these guys, giving them money, or promoting their spiels, you are participating in a hate group.

What is even better many of these guys are not regulated and more than often have received a tax except status to promote their hate in America: again THINK….. they do not pay taxes on money received but use that money to spread hate, misinformation, false facts, lies … think about that for a while.

National Policy Institute
geesh that sounds so mainstream…. Nope. “The National Policy Institute (NPI) is a white nationalist, white supremacist think tank based in Arlington, Virginia. It presents a lobby for white nationalism and seeks to provide a “so-called alt-right” “intellectual vanguard”. Its president as of 2016 is Richard B. Spencer, a founder of the blog Alternative Right.” (Wiki)

New Century Foundation (also American Renaissance is owned by Jared Taylor)
“The New Century Foundation is an organization founded in 1994 known primarily for publishing American Renaissance. From 1994 to 1999 its activities received considerable funding by the Pioneer Fund, and has been described as a white supremacist group, which its founder, Jared Taylor, denies, calling it white separatist.” (Wiki)

Family Research Council
Nice sounding name for all families right? ?? Exception if you are LGBTQ or apparently a “divorced” family. “FRC promotes traditional family values, by advocating and lobbying for socially conservative policies. It opposes and lobbies against the LGBT rights (such as same-sex marriage, same-sex civil unions, and LGBT adoption), abortion, divorce, embryonic stem-cell research and pornography.” (Wiki)

American College of Pediatricians
Sound like a good organization right????? However this is an anti-LGBTQ hate group) “The American College of Pediatricians (ACPeds) is a socially conservative advocacy group of pediatricians and other healthcare professionals in the United States. The group was founded in 2002 by a group of pediatricians, including Joseph Zanga, a past president of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), as a protest against the AAP’s support for adoption by gay couples.” (Wiki)

Federation for American Immigration Reform whose founder and funder is white nationalist John Tanton. This group is also known as FAIR. “…..under John Tanton’s leadership, FAIR received charitable donations of $1.2 million between 1983 and 1994 from the Pioneer Fund, an organization dedicated to “improving the character of the American people” by promoting the practice of eugenics, or selective breeding.” (Wiki)

The current president has nominated the former executive director of FAIR, Julie Kirchner, to be chief of staff at U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the largest federal law enforcement agency of the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

what is racism? the ducks and swans return

Steel Soapbox: what is racism?

I hope this helps in knowing what word is what and the intensity of that word. To disagree does not make one a racist or bigot… no instead racism is shown in your words, acts, and deeds that demonstrate the intent and goals as set out in the definitions below: intolerance of others and superiority of yourself/group

Basically if you see yourself as superior to another who is different from you, you are a racist… yup live with it.

Racists transcend race, religion, and ethnicity: all it takes is you believing what you are is superior to someone who is not like yourself. … The reason you hear white supremacy used more often is the fact it is more prevalent and vocal.

Seems many people fail to understand the meaning of racism… I have seen the most vulgar, hate filled comments, memes, posts, etc. that are solidly in the racist line parade though my newsfeed yet those people when challenged claim not to be racist… just expressing their “opinion”…. Good grief…

really are you that uneducated or just blind to your own mind set… if you want to be a racist, fine be one but admit what you are and know that you are one… and you will be called one .. so get ready for other’s “opinions” and stop being shocked then whining people called you on the mark

Here is a brief lesson in what racism is and how a racist acts… I will use swan and ducks instead of people for the examples …

Definition time: prejudice, bigotry, bias, discrimination, and racism

Prejudice as defined by Dictionary.com
1. an unfavorable opinion or feeling formed beforehand or without knowledge, thought, or reason. 2. any preconceived opinion or feeling, either favorable or unfavorable. 3. unreasonable feelings, opinions, or attitudes, especially of a hostile nature, regarding an ethnic, racial, social, or religious group.

In other words prejudice is a negative judgement you make towards another person or group based on no prior connection, “without knowledge” is the key phrase here.

So that means you, a duck, may have never been hurt by a swan but you think all swans are bad because you heard it so. What you heard may be truth or falsehood, you have only second hand information. You have no connection to the swan. You are in effect prejudiced.

Bias as defined by Dictionary.com
1. a particular tendency, trend, inclination, feeling, or opinion, especially one that is preconceived or unreasoned: illegal bias against older job applicants; the magazine’s bias toward art rather than photography 2. unreasonably hostile feelings or opinions about a social group; prejudice: accusations of racial bias.

As one can once again see the word unreasonable used in the definition. In other words there is no logical reason for the bias.

That swan you never met, you know would be a bad swan because swans swim, not logical or reasonable but an opinion never the less. Thus you do not want to hire the swan as a chef, even though the swan has a culinary degree, simply because swans swim.

Now you, the duck, are biased… you do not like the swan for illogical reasoning and are refusing to hire said swan due to the swan being a swan.

Bigotry as defined by Dictionary.com
1.stubborn and complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one’s own. 2.the actions, beliefs, prejudices, etc., of a bigot.

Now we see the word intolerance used. This is a stronger word than bias or prejudice. Basically it means you have no want, need, or interest in anyone who is different than yourself and you see those differences as inferior thus “they” are bad people overall.

Back to the swan… You think all swans should be banned from the area because they are not like your breed which is a duck. Therefore you are intolerant of swans and want only to mingle with your own, ducks. You are a bigot duck ….

Discrimination as defined by Dictionary.com
1. an act or instance of discriminating, or of making a distinction. 2. treatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than on individual merit: racial and religious intolerance and discrimination.

In this case we do not see a negative concept being explained but rather an action used to determine difference between two or more elements. Thus refusing to hire someone based on your personal biases, prejudices, or bigotry is enacting discrimination against them

So back to the duck, who discriminates against swans by pointing out they have long necks and no feather design patterns. The duck uses his voice to influence others to his way of thinking. The duck actively uses elements to support the discrimination.

Racism as defined by Dictionary.com
1. a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human racial groups determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one’s own race is superior and has the right to dominate others or that a particular racial group is inferior to the others. 2. a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination. 3. hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.

As you can see racism is a doctrine of hate towards another based on the idea that your group is superior and therefore has the right to control all those not of their group.

Back to the swan and ducks. The duck feels superior to the swan, because of being a duck and nothing else. Therefore the duck feels the right to dominate the swan and if need be eliminate all swans since the swans do not have the same level of equality as the ducks and therefore should be discriminated against. But what of the ducks over in the other side of the pond. Those ducks are different in their color and while they are technology ducks but they should be looked on as inferior … even being a duck does not guarantee safety and equality

So the moral is do not be an illogical duck but be a logical swan……

Jefferson and public schools… again

Steel Soapbox rant… Jefferson and public schools
“….. thus building a wall of separation between Church & State”

We have our public school system thanks to our forefathers… Thomas Jefferson in particular was an advocate of the system. He believed the natural rights of man should include being education since that was the crux to a nation not just limping along but growing into a great nation. In order to achieve this stature, Americans would need to be educated so they could select qualified leaders and push the government forward.

Jefferson saw that education, intelligence, and the internal well-being went hand in hand, a man well educated was a prime directive to enjoying life more than one under-educated, less intelligence. Thus the key to making America a great nation was education, not praising the uneducated but pushing for more education. Think on that for a sec…….

In 1779, he advocated for a three year period free education funded by tax-payers to be granted for all free-born children both male and female. For Virginia he proposed that every county in Virginia should provide an elementary school. (A Bill for the More General Diffusion of Knowledge)

Three years may not seem much today, but it was a major issue then, plus females were included. And yes it was for free-born, but that is for another discussion.

Jefferson also understood that America would need those both in the professional realms and tradesmen (vocations) in order for a nation to go forwards. He also strongly believed that homemakers and men with vocational training needed to be educated to have the ability to be informed of current events, politics, and important issues that may arise, judge those item in a rational manner, and come to a fair and equitable conclusion. Thus giving back a decision that was right for all Americans not just themselves.

Think about that, this is a major idea…. that the common man was to have education that gave him the power to make decision that affected all. The common man woudl help decide who the leader was……

This was not taken lightly nor was it abused for the ‘me me me me’ attitude. This idea has come back again and again in America, most famously by Kennedy with his famous quote: “And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”

In the recent election how many times did you see people say: I am voting for because I want, I need, I, I, me, me, me…… seems we have lost that idea of doing what is right for the whole of our nation in favor of ourselves.

Okay back on tract ….

In 1817 Jefferson reworded his proposal in an outline for the Virginia. The outline was worked in three stages. Elementary school, where all children received those three years of schooling. After that time, females were to learn homemaking skills and the males to learn a vocation.

Intermediate schools where for those families with money could then continue to send their sons (no females allowed) that excelled at the elementary level. And then the university where of course parents paid.

These schools would teach the following: math, reading, writing, basic geography, and Western civilization history (Greek, Roman, European and of course American)

Here, it is of interest to stop and look at the reasoning for the history. Jefferson wrote:

“History by apprising them of the past will enable them to judge of the future; it will avail them of the experience of other times and other nations; it will qualify them as judges of the actions and designs of men; it will enable them to know ambition under every disguise it may assume; and knowing it, to defeat its views.” (Thomas Jefferson, Notes on the State of Virginia)

By knowing your history and how it affects you will make you a better judge of man and what events you need to participate in for the growth of the nation. This is important even today, for how many times have we seen in the recently history forgotten or attempt to revise with erroneous errors.

Unlike many who today scoff at education and speak how they love the uneducated, our forefathers who laid out this nation knew the importance of this. It is through education that ignorance is defeated, and ignorance breeds contempt and hate that destroys a nation, not builds it up.

Jefferson stressed that everyone needs the basic education, this concept is still important today, though the time period has increased to what we consider basic. Personally I would extend that 12 year span by 2 years preferably at a community college as a base education for all Americans. College tends to expand how one looks at the world and critically thinks. At one time these skills were incorporated into the 12 year schooling but the practice has been lost in recent years.

While we are seeing a push today to include religion into public schools, Jefferson strongly pushed for what he referred to as “separation of state and religion” in order to ensure freedom of religion.

“Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should “make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,” thus building a wall of separation between Church & State. Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore to man all his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties.” (January 1, 1802 letter by Thomas Jefferson, addressed to the Danbury Baptist Association in Connecticut, and published in a Massachusetts newspaper

This idea is further enhanced by Article Six

“no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.”

Madison echoed the separation of state and religion in his journal entry of August 15, 1789:

“Mr. Madison said he apprehended the meaning of the words to be, that Congress should not establish a religion, and enforce the legal observation of it by law, nor compel men to worship God in any manner contrary to their conscience. …” (House of Representatives, Amendments to the Constitution)

So what about the teaching of religion in schools… this is now where it becomes interesting.

“The first stage of this education being the schools of the hundreds, wherein the great mass of the people will receive their instruction, the principal foundations of future order will be laid here. Instead therefore of putting the Bible and Testament into the hands of the children, at an age when their judgments are not sufficiently matured for religious enquiries, their memories may here be stored with the most useful facts from Grecian, Roman, European and American history.” (Thomas Jefferson, Notes on the State of Virginia)

Thomas Jefferson pushed for facts over the Bible for students, leaving their religious education for later in life and with their own institutions. He praises science and history over the Bible for basic education…. That is truly amazing considering the era.

Separate religion from schooling: is it truly that difficult for people to do. You learn your religion’s value at your organization.. simple…. not complex at all.. Jefferson was a mastermind of what was common sense.

He goes on to state:

“The first elements of morality too may be instilled into their minds; such as, when further developed as their judgments advance in strength, may teach them how to work out their own greatest happiness, by shewing them that it does not depend on the condition of life in which chance has placed them, but is always the result of a good conscience, good health, occupation, and freedom in all just pursuits.”

For Jefferson the morality learned from history will strengthen one’s own life’s happiness factor, i.e. education and intelligence far outweighs the uneducated. Again think on this… incredible the common sense thought towards progressive thoughts.

Thus education was important to Jefferson for all therefore a public school system, one we should be holding at higher standards today.

So what has gone wrong… why are we now seeing education as bad, smart people as evil, intelligence as a mockery, academia ridiculed, and any thought beyond what is to be controlled a danger… what has happened to the educational push in America and why are we stepping back, going back never equals greatness only ignorance and control.

Think for a second: why are people trying to force religion into school… control is the answer and do we really need that kind of control? What religion will be allowed, what religion will be condemned and how does that affect the freedom of religion? So many slippery holes open up when one tries to control another’s soul or mind…

And just for a nice ending: how did Jefferson see others than his own “white” heritage as to speak? Well here is one example…

Jefferson had a radically idea back then to restructure the College of William and Mary from the religious direction of missionary indoctrination of the Native American populations and instead instruct the missionary to follow along secular lines to obtain anthropological data… shocking to see another culture as important as to be recorded … not along religious lines to indoctrinate them … truly shocking back then…

“The said Professors shall likewise appoint, from time to time, a missionary, of approved veracity, to the several tribes of Indians, whose business shall be to investigate their laws, customs, religions, traditions, and more particularly their languages, constructing grammars thereof, as well as may be, and copious vocabularies, and, on oath, to communicate, [from time to time to the said president and professors the materials he collects to be by them laid up and preserved in their library, for which trouble the said missionary shall be allowed a salary at the discretion of the visitors out of the revenues of the college.”

Our forefathers may not have been perfect, our government may not be perfect… however we can work on those imperfections not by hiding our eyes to where we are today, how certain ideas have been allowed to fester ….. We need to make sure our great experiment does not fail in the next 4 years by staying vigilance and opposing control, regression, hate, and supremacy ideologies

Steel Soapbox: the alt right moves in

In response to the following:

It’s Pointless To Try To Reason With The Alt-Right

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/its-pointless-to-try-and-reason-with-the-alt-right_us_586d4218e4b0eb58648ba313

A reminder of what the alt-right is: white supremacy… plain and simple. And basically if you follow their meme, websites, etc. what does that class your true colors as … be wary of what you are sharing

Seriously this is one group we must not take lightly.. I see way too many people who claim they are not racist yet speaking the words of the alt-right. How can one tell you wonder?? Easy like in pseudo archaeology you will hear the same mantra being said over and over. These words come from the web sites that polarize these people into place, they hear the same spiel repeatedly until they become a part of their verbiage. This is why you see many of the exact phrases and sentences used by a variety of pseudo and alt-right (white supremacist) defenders to sheer up their faltering base beliefs when confronted. Using the words that are in a sense pounded into their core beliefs is one method of reassuring their followers will send out similar meanings.

So while it is pointless to argue with a die-hard pseudo or alt -right (white supremacist) person, it is necessary not to let the falsehoods aimed at common sense and science go unchallenged. Once we allow the normalization of pseudo or alt-right (white supremacy) things will go very wrong, thus why we need to be vigilant about what we share and not pas along fake news or news that is heavy into pseudo/alt-right realms… take responsibility

Repealing and the losses

Steel Soapbox rant: Repealing and the losses

Before I start a few clarifications….

First off for those who are still clueless and voted to get rid of Obamacare but are on Affordable Care Act…….. Obamacare is the Affordable Care Act…

Second: If you think repealing Obamacare will drop insurance rates.. think again. It will only mean millions of people will again have no insurance and rates will probably double in a year according to economists…

Third: The Affordable Care Act was never intended to be presented as a finished product. It was simply a start to make sure ALL Americans had coverage and could go to the doctor. It had to be tweaked, parts overhauled, changes to accommodate doctors etc., and expanded or decreased as needed. It was designed to change if parts failed…

Fourth: The time between repealing one plan and setting up a new plan will take a while… there is no time line given, just the words “take a while”. Considering the goal is to privatize everything, I doubt you will see a similiar replacement, but more like a buy at a fortune or not have insurance: that is if you will qualify for the insurance.

Fifth: there needs to be a transitional time period… dumping people off insurance at the end of this month is irresponsible… but unless congress hears from people that may well happen

——————————–
This steel soapbox rant will be on what was deleted already from Obamacare…. But those deletions are sad as the outcome will be devastating for many and while I am not personally affect the knowledge what this will bring about for so many people, yea that hurts my heart. What will happen assuredly is people that cannot afford life giving treatment will DIE…. I have to wonder if someone will start a death count as soon as Obamacare is repealed to reflect the total number of deaths that loss will create.

Tell me how many children will die of cancer this year who will lose their treatments… but what is another death right? What of the father who needs a transplant and now insurance companies will say he is a risk, no coverage, but heck one less right? What of the medications that keep people going… oh well it clears the roads right? What of the elderly that can now be rejected from nursing homes due … as Scrooge would say let them die “and decrease the surplus”, you agree right?

What am I hearing, you find those words horrible… but that is what is and will happen… so at least know there are consequences for actions… this a consequence of this election…

Now many will question why I use the term “hate ideology” as the cause of this last election.. fact is “hate ideology” drove the election. Think about all the anger you saw, all the fake memes and fake news stories that were off the charts, all the denial of basic procedures and protocols, what else would account for the blindness from so many.. “hate ideology”, a powerful weapon when wielded.

What else, other than this “hate ideology” would account for the late night actions of the Senate if not out of spite for the administration that is ready to leave? If it was the people they were concerned with sick and dying Americans, do you truly think they would do these actions and not had a substitute in place after HOW many years we have heard how horrible Obama care is…. Did not the incoming president premise a GREAT new replacement as part of getting elected… so where is it????? Now is the time to show those hidden cards and save America… again actions not words speak

“hate ideology” is powerful and we have seen now it will take us down… sad events indeed

So here is what was voted down in the middle of the night in regards to health insurance…. The list targeted women, children, vets and the poor… but the new administration is speaking for the average American… right???? Actions speak way louder than words….. and way too many people had “hate ideology” in their ears this election to hear……

Women having any insurance for birth control that was eliminated right off the bat … that alone is mind boggling why the preponderance of MEN in Congress would deny basic birth control to women… think on that long and hard, it is shameful to control women in such a fashion. Hmmm curious was Viagra denied for men? One way street so far…..

People with pre-existing conditions are no longer protected… yup when they repeal Obamacare this month and you are on it or your company is, well guess what if you are out insurance and looking for new insurance companies, those companies can now, once again, deny you any insurance… how will that sit with someone sick?

Veterans’ health care… yup all those patriotic remarks about how to care for the veterans. The VA itself may be eliminated and all care go to private companies that the vets would then pay for with a voucher and since no limits also with their own cash to make up the difference … and how does this support the vets?

Do not forget anything privatized means BIG money is being made at the top and for stockholders … or else why privatize…..

Children on Medicaid or CHIP… they are included… so if you have a child who needs regular care on under this, you are paying it yourself or simply do without… is that what everyone wanted right, no medical for children.

Medicaid expansion will be removed… lots and lots of working poor people are under this in many states… some states will try and pass exemptions to cover for now… but for how long?

Finally young adults will now be removed from their parents plan and with those in college or working at no insurance jobs… tough it and hope you do not get sick or injured…

So you have a short time to get your medical checks etc. in to go a while longer … and if Obamacare is repealed and nothing in place that is affordable and you have no money, well you may want to consider getting a will or a plot to bury your child…. those are the cold facts this election has given America…

the word “Illegals”

Know anyone who has treaded beyond ‘the stay off the grass sign’, have you, if so then you and the rest should be labeled an “illegal walker” because you broke a law.
